About high societea & Kathy Heath Events Catering

With 20 years' experience in catering for and theming corporate events and some of Brisbane's most stylish private functions, owner Kathy Heath decided to extend her exceptional flair and attention to detail to high tea service.

Growing up on a sheep-and-cattle property in rural New Zealand (Omakau, Central Otago) instilled in Kathy a great appreciation for fresh, quality produce.

With a house forever decorated with fresh roses, Kathy and her sisters enjoyed morning and afternoon teas of her mother's country-fresh, homebaked cakes and slices.

For the second year in succession, high societea was named Best Themed Restaurant in the national 2007 Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering Australia Awards for Excellence.

Closer to home, the teahouse won the categories of Best Themed Restaurant and Best Coffee Shop/Tea Room in the 2007 Restaurant & Catering Queensland HOSTPLUS State Awards for Excellence. high societea was also Regional Winner of Best Coffee Shop/Tea Room.

Twinings Tea

Kathy previously ran a 350-seat tea gallery on behalf of Twinings at the Brisbane Ekka (Royal Queensland Show), and high societea hosted 10th generation family member Stephen Twining when he visited Australia recently. (The teahouse stocks Twinings loose-leaf tea, as well as a number of other top-quality blends.)

Catering & Events

Kathy also runs Kathy Heath Events, which offers services ranging from catering for corporate cocktail parties, to boardroom luncheons, elaborate sit-down functions and celebrations at private residences. We also specialise in wedding decorations, chair covers and theming for corporate events.
